About Event Hive
Event Hive is a pre-launch startup aiming to revolutionize event planning in India. It's an all-in-one event planning platform designed to simplify how people discover, compare, and book vendors for weddings, birthdays, and corporate events. The goal was to create a unified experience that brings together hosts, planners, decorators, caterers, venues, and other professionals , eliminating the chaos of juggling multiple apps and contacts.
We designed Event Hive to streamline vendor discovery, booking services, and payment flows while ensuring
transparency and convenience for both users and vendors. The platform emphasizes joyful visuals, easy
navigation, and seamless communication, making event planning effortless, organized and inspiring.

Booking success rate improved from 62% → 88% after redesigning the cart flow.
Navigation clarity score increased from 6.2 → 8.7 / 10 in testing.

Context / Key Findings
Event planning today is highly fragmented and stressful, with users relying on multiple tools, unverified vendors,
and scattered communication channels. Today, users juggle endless WhatsApp groups, different tools and
calls to pick different vendors, and inconsistent pricing to book a single event. Vendors, on
the other hand, struggle to gain visibility and manage client trust.
Users struggled with:
Discovering trusted vendors and services without juggling
between endless calls and tools.
Comparing prices and availability transparently across
categories.
Coordinating multiple vendors for a single event in
one place.
Tracking bookings, payments, and cancellations clearly.
Over 80% of users relied on 3–5 different apps or calls to
plan a single event.
Hosts spent 3-5 days finalizing vendors due to fragmented discovery.
72% of users reported delays and confusion in booking the service.
55% of participants said unclear cancellation/refund policies were a major blocker.
Challenge
How might we design an event booking experience that feels as effortless as ordering food online - while building trust, transparency, and convenience.
Solution
We focused on four strategic goals:
Seamless Discovery – Different categories,
smart filters like budget, location, availability.
Trust & Transparency – Verified vendors, reviews, transparent pricing.
Effortless Booking – Cart style multi-vendor checkout
+ multiple payment options.
Reliability – Live tracking, cancellation policies, and 24/7 support.

Project was designed using the design thinking process to uncover real user needs, define core challenges, and craft an intuitive and user-centered solution that simplifies event planning by streamlining bookings, vendor coordination, and task management.

Project Strategy
The design strategy for "Event Hive" centered on solving fragmented event planning experiences while balancing user trust and platform scalability. By combining user research, competitive analysis, and iterative design, we aimed to deliver a seamless platform that connects hosts and vendors in one transparent booking journey.

Identify User Needs
From 10+ user interviews, we uncovered recurring frustrations with hidden costs,
poor vendor visibility, and scattered communication & booking tools.
84% of participants wanted one centralized platform to manage discovery, comparison and booking , eliminating the chaos of juggling multiple apps.

By aligning user needs with business goals, the final designs ensured a joyful, seamless, and stress-free booking experience.

For the Event Hive platform, we used SF Pro as the primary typeface for its clean, modern, and highly legible design, ensuring consistency and readability across digital interfaces.
Inspired by the vibrance of gatherings and the warmth of connection. The palette uses a signature Yellow paired with soft neutrals and deep contrast tones to evoke positivity, trust, and inclusivity. This combination reflects Event Hive’s core essence -turning planning stress into joy.

Users lacked trust, faced inefficiencies in comparing vendors, and found

Mapping these insights revealed that simplifying booking into minimized clearer steps could reduce stress and having verified badges could increase trust.
Designing Meaningful Solutions
Build a platform that not only solves booking process and logistics but also humanizes the process through a playful brand tone.
Introduced different categories, verified badges for vendor profiles, upfront pricing, booking appointments, & cart style booking for multi-vendor coordination.
Validate Through Testing
Conducted 2 rounds of usability testing to refine IA, booking flows, and brand touchpoints.
📊 Key Insight: 76% of participants said that upfront pricing + verified vendor profiles were the top drivers of trust during the usability sessions.
